Paneer Tikka

This is a classic grilled paneer tikka recipe which is made with the Indian cheese, paneer....that has been marinated for a few hours and then grilled. Its really popular with the vegetarians at a barbeque and is mouth wateringly yummy!!Chaat masala is  a tangy spice mix that adds a fun chaat taste to the paneer. It can be bought at any Indian grocery store. Grilling time is about 15 min!

Paneer Tikka

Ingredients

Paneer cut into large cubes                    1/2 lb
Yogurt  for marinating                           5 tbsps
Salt  and all spices                                  to taste
Red chilli powder                                  a pinch
Turmeric powder                                   1/4 tsp
Coriander powder                                  1/4 tsp
Cumin powder                                       1/4 tsp
Black pepper                                          a pinch
Chaat masala                                          to sprinkle before serving

For the Skewers-

Onions            2 medium sized cut into roughly the same size cubes as the paneer
Mushrooms    about 10 large ones cut into halves
Bell Peppers   1 red, 1 green ,also cut into same size cubes as the paneer

Mix the yogurt with all the spice powders and salt to taste. Add the cut paneer, onions, mushrooms and bell pepper to this and cover and refrigerate for about two hours at least. Arrange paneer and veggies alternately on skewers. Grill on a medium heat till they look slightly crisp. The mixed skewers cook quite fast and can be served hot with a mint chutney or with a salad! Enjoy!!
