Spicy Texas Chilli

Its freezing cold outside (20F) and I could think of nothing better than some spicy chilli for dinner! So here is my version of chilli....

Spicy Texas Chilli

Lean ground beef            2lb
Two onions                      chopped
Serrano pepper                1 medium
Tomato Paste                   1 can
Red kidney beans            1 can
Worcestershire sauce       a  dash
Soy Sauce                        a splash

A teaspoon each of -
Garlic powder
Ginger powder
Cumin powder
Coriander powder
Cayenne pepper
Red pepper flakes

Kosher salt                  to taste
Fresh ground pepper   to taste

Chop onions and fry in a tablespoon of olive oil. When they are translucent add the serrano pepper (as is, so you can remove it later). Cook until onions start to brown a bit and add the meat.Stir and blend well. Add a tablespoon of soy sauce and worcestershire sauce each. Now add garlic powder, ginger powder, kosher salt, fresh ground pepper, cayenne pepper, red pepper flakes, coriander powder and cumin powder. Mix and blend well. Add a can of tomato paste and a can of red beans(washed) to this and stir well. Now add 3 cups of water and let it come to a boil. At this point I usually transfer it into a crockpot and set aside to cook for four hours !! Enjoy!!
